Ski Patrol News - Work Weekend
Just over a week ago, volunteers from the patrol ventured up to our home-away-from-home to lend a hand at our annual work weekend. With several key projects on the to-do list, the group spent most of the first day getting as much done as possible. Later that evening those that wanted to tough it out and camp on the hill set up their tents, started a campfire, and settled in for a hot coal dinner. Check out the photos.
Here's what the Patrol Representative, Randi Lowery, had to say:
Thanks to everyone who was able to come up on Saturday. We got several projects either finished, or almost.
Accomplished:
* Repairing and painting two picnic tables in front of the patrol building for patrol use.
* Did some cleaning.
* Got the warming hut at the top about 80% sided with cedar shakes and it LOOKS GREAT!
* Okay, and we ate a lot, too.
Some brave souls spent the night tent camping at the base of Broadway (if you were looking at the webcam, we did wave).
I plan to try for one more work weekend before the season gets started to finish the warming hut, and hopefully get the bathroom finished upstairs (we ran out of time this weekend).
I'll keep you posted.
Randi
Did you miss out? Never fear! With another work weekend in its planning stages, and the OEC refresher coming up next month, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
Do you have an event that would interest the Patrol? Do you need more information on the upcoming refresher? Use the "About Us" link in the left-hand menu group, then click on "Patrol Representative" or "Webmaster."
